This is our ancient tradition to do the worship of lord Shiva with
cremation ash in Mahakaleshwar Temple Ujjain. The priest applies ash on Mahakal
daily.
According to our holy scripture Maha Shivpuran, This ash is the start and
end of this world. At last all world converted into the form of this ash,
therefore Lord Shiva always apply this ash on body. Its mean all worlds are
available in the body of lord Shiva.
According to Shiv Puran, how to create ash? Using dung cake of Desi Cow
dung, Piple wood and other holy wood fired combining with proper Mantra
Chanting. After Burn these articles with mantra chanting this ash prepared. This
ash offered to lord Shiva daily.
All Sadhak and priest apply the hinges of this ash after applying on lord
Shiva. After applies, these take ash from the feet of lord Shiva and apply hinges
on their forehead to bright their luck.
Due to this Ash it covered the body and it protect us from cold in winter
season and hot in summer season it teaches us that human should adjust itself
in circumstances.
Ash Worship is a secretly and unnatural ritual. They also use the human
body ash after the death and its buried in cremation ground mean there are also
ash collected from Cemeteries of fresh body burned. And it applies on lord Shiva
body. That means that dead person mix with lord and became free from the birth
and die for future.
During Ash worship, Sadhak do the rain of ash and this times female covered
their face and eyes as they are not allowed to see this worship with open eyes
like this.
